The Menstrual Cup Saga

i must have mentioned already that i purchased a menstrual cup (well, actually, two, but the second was free). and how much of a hassle it was to bring home, and how much i like it.

well, today i got my period again, for the first time since march, and i decided to put it in again. all the struggles from last month were nowhere, not only did i know how to fold and keep it folded, my stomach is now a lot smaller and it was very easy to coordinate everything. it didn't open on my first try, so i wobbled it a bit, and voila. i'm a master of this now.

and then i went to train. it's semi-important to note that i am sore from yesterday, because it had TWO workouts: the fit test, where i presume you're supposed to go allll out, and then some interval cardio max whatever, that is about 59 minutes of work and 2 to 3 minutes of ads. i did them both, naturally.

so today i trained a bit lighter, and i did notice some exercises seemed easier - others though were a lot harder, because i was so sore. after the workout i decided to take advantage of my period elasticity, so i did a leg stretching routine from youtube. i was in the middle of working out, on my back, with my left knee to my chest, when i felt this slight change downstairs. you know the feeling when you sneeze on your period? it was that.

if you don't know it, i envy you.

so why was i feeling the niagara falls of blood in my panties, when cups hold up to 12 hours of blood? it took a while to get home and find out, but once i did, i was so very happy i didnt take the cup out in the gym! it got completely filled in 6 hours. well, not completely, but enough that when i was holding it and takig it out, it spilled, and was full to its rim. when my fingers loosened a bit, the level of blood sank about a centimeter.

important to note: on my previous period, when i used the cup from the first day, it never got this full. i know i have a heavy flow on my first day, but this was beyond anything i ever imagined.

and now, of course, i have to clean blood out of my landlady's bathroom rug, because she doesnt like me keeping a towel on the floor by the bathtub. lovely.
